Brian T. is running 80 monotracks (24 bit, 48khz) on his Paris setup from
one Maxtor 20Gb 5200rpm.
He stated that how many tracks you can get from a harddrive also have to do
with how the software reads them (or something like that).
He said that Paris and Maxtor seems to be a very good combination for
working with audio.
He also said he didn't notice any boost in performance when going to a 7200
drive.
Also; the new harddrives that shows better performance in tests, doesn't
prove to be better for audio applications.
BTW: He also played back 64 tracks while recording 16 onto the same drive in
the test.
While playing back 80 tracks he had to use another harddrive to record the
next 16...
