Hi
I just picked up a copy of Sound on Sound and read their current review
of Cubase SX. What REALLY has my interest is a feature that just came
out in Cubase SX that I've been waiting for 10 years...the "time
warp"
tool. This is the tool that enables you to start at beat 1 of a new
quantizable sequence at any random point in the initial time grid...
great for those times where you want to start into a piece in a free
form, non quantized, intro, and then bang right into a rhythmic
structure. I would think film score guys would go crazy over this
feature.
I was sad that Logic didn't come out with it first. I'm also glad that
Cubase did. Maybe that means that Logic will soon follow suit?
If there is anyone on this list who also uses Cubase SX 2, can you
comment on how well this feature works?
Please join me in bugging the Programming team at Emagic to implement
this feature!
Thanks,
Stefan Garr

Sad to tell you that Digital Performer has something like that for
quite a long time!!! So Cubase is really not the first to have it!

I'd also like to see a better tempo, bar, smpte adjusting tool.
Right now, it's very complicated to do the daily "standard"
adjustments when working to the picture.
The "find tempo" tool in DP looks very interesting, also the time
warp tool in Cubase. But I'm almost sure that Logic 6.5 / 7 will
have new features.

Sorry, yes. I was just pointing you to another app's cool
implementation of tempo mapping. Samplitude is PC only. I
thought it may be of interest to you as you've wanted this
feature for a while. The website (which has a registered
only users forum) is down today, it should be up on Monday.
