Subject: [OT] Is anyone using a 'SPL Charisma 2 or 8'
Message #153204
Cause this is OT reply privately or on the OT list: I posted a question a few days ago called 'would recording everything through tubes sound better or more tape like?' But out of 10,000 members of this group I got one reply that didn't comment on tubes at all. Out of all the products I found on the net this 'SPL Charisma' was the only thing that didn't have compressors or eq's built in. Plus this box provides direct control over the tube drive and tube sound type from soft to hard limiting. Because the producers I like the sound of are mostly using tape I thought that recording everything through this would add that sound to the recorded file(as the pdf advertisement says). I have a feeling this would make a huge benefit to our digital recording softare with nice converters. Someone must own one of these or have some opinion on tube processors for treating audio recorded to digital. Roman.
