I would like to move the automation moves on a few track of a song to a
different mix
of the same tune in a different song file.
Any advice on how this is done?

No idea if this works, but in theory it should:
Open the Automation Folder (keycommand only) to open an Arrange-like
view of the automation sequences. Copy selected sequences, close
song, open 2nd song, open its Automation Folder, and paste. You
could try having the 2 songs open simultaneously, but this is risky
since Logic tends to get confused with 2 songs open (assigning EXS
instruments from the 2nd song to EXS instances in the 1st song for
example, thus completely ruining your song).

Thanks. That's exactly what I did. And it does work great!
I think I've found that one could also, in the arrange window,
select the automation by using "shift" and lassoing the area of
automation wanted and copy. Then paste where desired.
Appreciate the help.
