Have you gone into the Audio drivers menu? Is there nothing listed there? If the 'SoundMax' card is integrated on the motherboard you'll need the latest drivers from the manufacturer - in this case Dell will be your first port of call. But unless there's an 'ASIO' driver available for it, you're gonna get huge latency when you play your soft synths - latency being the time between you hitting the keyboard and when you hear the sound. Get a proper sound card and disable the onboard thing. Can anyone recommend an affordable ASIO card? I hesitate in suggesting the Audigy... ___ Ade
