Hi,
I haven't seen anyone mentioned the Anwida EQs in this debate. They are very
smooth, i use them with the Eqium and Firum (though i don't use them too
much as i find them a little bit too fiddly and i don't like the delay and
having to compensate on the Firum) and i mainly use the Sonalkis because it
has the right blend of "userbility" and great sound.
Anwida come in a 16 channel and a 32 channel EQ. also quite fiddly and plain
looking because they appear as 16 or 32 sliders on a plain panel but they
are very smooth.
Anwida also do a warm compressor....another debate we should kick up which
is the best vintage sounding compressor? The Aiwida was is very smooth, but
no so fat...it wouldn't be great or drums or anything too harsh sounding i
wouldn;t think...though i have yet to test it properly. I imagine it work
work very well for strings, pads and other smooth sounds just adding some
warmth (and it really does have a nice warm sound difference to it...not
just that increased volume change a lot of compressors emit which
automatically convinces our ears the sound is better because its louder)
I also use Waves R-Comp on nearly everything, the C1 for more digital tough,
harsh compression and the D-B comp i you want very harsh sucking and pumping
for things.
I find the R-Comp to be very phat and clean, can anyone recommend anything
else...i will do a test with various sound sources and see which i belive to
sound the best, then post them to the files area...
