Actually, I use ProTools for mastering, mainly for its editing capabilities and availabilty of high-quality plugs ins like the McDSP MC2000 multiband comp, Filterbank and also T-Racks as RTAS plugs. However, there is absolutely no reason you couldn't use Logic for the same purpose. The new Ad Limiter and Multiband compresser are very good, though I'd recommend you add the Waves Rennaisance collection or PSP's Vintage Warmer for more sonic options. Make sure you add the (free) PSP Vintage Meter for decent metering - Logic's meters are useless for any serious purpose. I don't know if Waves PAZ analyzer is available separately, but it's highly recommended. Elemental Audio's free "Inspector" is a good substitue. Basically, you need a meter that will tell you the difference between peak and average (RMS) Also, after the all the praises on this list, I'll be checking out Elemental's "Firium" and "Equim". I also use Peak, but for two capabilities only - the ability to edit one side of a stereo signal and the Stereo-to-Mono function. If Logic would add these functions and speed up their redraws, I'd ditch Peak in an instant. HTH Mars

This is a reply to #153054.
