Works great in OSX. In OS9, you can't use the MIDI port. Sound quality
is fine. MIDI is stable (beats my MT4)
Recommended.

Yeah I agree. Very happy with the 828mkii. Again in OS X. Don't know about
OS 9. The Mic Preamps could better but the sound quality itself is good.

What about the preamps could be better?I'm thinking of returning my
firewire410 for
the 828mkii.The 410's preamps have 66db of gain and the 828mkii's have only
46db.Are the quality of converters and preamps of the 828mkii that much
better than
the 410's?I'll be using it to record classical guitar at about 8-10ft. and
hope I don't
miss the extra gain.Does anyone know if the 828mkii preamps sound(are)
better than
the 410's?
Thanks,
Jay

Dunno about the firewire 410 but it siounds like you'll be ok with the
828mkII I wouldn't think the preamps from both interfaces change
dramatically, although when using a shure sm58 I usually have to crank it
almost all the way up to get strong signal. Of course, we are talking about
a preamp of a firewire interface, which you can except as much as a
professional preamp. But for me, that's were logic plugins come in and
usually do the job just fine.
