Subject: Optimal track use in arrange (MIDI only)
Message #9525
Hello, I have a performance question. I'm only using Logic for MIDI, LAWP, but I don't think that matters for the answer. What is the most efficient way to arrange MIDI data on tracks? The way I usually work is to have maybe 4 tracks pr MIDI channel in arrange, one track for the notes, one for CC07 volume, one for pan, one for modulation etc etc. Well its the way I work, don't ask :) I can quickly zoom in on the pan track and hyperdraw my changes. However, is this efficient for the Logic MIDI engine? Or should I compress everything onto one track pr midi channel, so Logic don't have to analyze umpteen tracks before sending out data? Or is it the opposite way around: The more data on a track, the slower goes Logic? It'd be great if someone knew this. Thanks, Gisle
