Try doing the following: Create a new sequence on the same audio object you wish to automate. Do the hyperdrawings on that sequence. When you're done with it, fiddle with either the negative delay in the sequence parameter box for the hyperdrawn sequence, or, in case of a larger latency, drag the whole part first and then do some fineadjustments with the delay.
