Message #151375
Anybody here successfully installed & run SampleTank2 on a Mac. I'm using OS 9.2 and am having some problems. SampleTank 1 worked fine but ST2 crashes every time I try to open the VST plug in. If you are having a similar problem or have gotten ST2 to work please let me know. Thanks! Jon Huck

There is a new update on their website that I just downloaded but haven't tried yet. However, the information about the download doesn't indicate that it addresses the problems I'm having. I bought the upgrade the same day it became available, and still haven't been able to use it. I did manage to get it to work for a while but it continues to crash in some way (during play, while loading a sound, etc.) Sometimes it crashes Logic, sometimes my G4 (I'm using a G4 1.25mH, dual processor). Occasionally, I get a Logic message saying that their is a problem with "dual processor." It doesn't indicate Sampletank, but this never happens unless ST2 is running. Sometimes it will crash Explorer if I happen to have it running. Sampletank 1 has never caused any kind of problems. (Unfortunately, ST2 sounds can't be used with ST1) Sometimes there are hung notes that I can't stop unless I "clear" the instrument. IK Multimedia suggests that you use all 16 channels of a ST instrument before opening another one. The problem is that Logic will not allow you to assign multiple midi channels to one Audio Instrument. You can set the Instrument to "all" and then change the transmit midi channel from your controller to trigger the different instruments (and midi channels) in ST2. Unfortunely, then, one Instrument fader controls the volumes of ALL the instruments in ST at the same time. I'm using a Logic Control and want to control each instrument from a seperate fader. There is probably a way to accomplish this, but I haven't had the time to figure it out. So, ST2 goes unused. It looks like a great upgrade, but it's useless at this point. Cobb Bussinger

Worked for me. O.
