After installing the demo of the Zebra softsynth AU, Logic quits at
startup after "initialising core audio".The problem remained after
I
removed the zebra AU and the zebra presets folder.
I'm running logic 6.3.2 on a 1ghz powerbook (15 inch) with Panther.
I have no experience with panther or osx for that matter.
Thanks in advance,
Roland

Hiya,
hmm, if you removed Zebra from the Components folder and it still
quits, I highly doubt that Zebra is involved in the problem (especially
as many people successfully use the Panther - Logic - Zebra combo).
Do you have any other AUs installed? Which audio interface driver do
you use?
Did you rename any folders, like the path to the components?
Cheers,
;) Urs

Hi Urs,
You're right, Zebra is not to blame. Today logic (and ZEbra!!,nice
synth by the way) worked for a couple of hours after which it did
quit again at startup (after initialising core audio).
I removed all third party plugins but still no luck.
Must be something with core audio I think (I use the onboard
soundcard from the powerbook).
Anyway thanks for your quick response.

Hiya Roland,
sigh... relief...
Maybe you can send me your Logic crashlog? - In about 75% of all cases
(99% when it's my own software) I can identify the problem from that.

Hi Urs,
Everything works now.
It had nothing to do with third party AU's.
Seems that you can't copy wrapped vst plugz from another system.
The wrapping needs to be done on your own system.
This was causing the startup failure.
I got this answer from infoweb.
Take care,
Roland.
