Subject: [LAM] M-Tron AU and Panther
Message #151240
I cannot get M-Tron AU to work in Panther (10.3.1). Trying to start an istance will crash Logic (Rax will crash too). It just needs to be updated for Panther or anyone got it working as it actually is?

> I cannot get M-Tron AU to work in Panther (10.3.1). I transferred all my MTron files to EXS. Much better, less taxing on RAM and the EXS' modulation matrix ius at your command. Christian

I complained to support at one point and they sent me a new fresh M-Tron through e-mail which worked flawlessly. This was before panther though, but it may be the remedy for your situation as well? good luck -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- canine_at_waf80_dot_de good night europe. <your name here> http://kainiggemann.de ---------------------------------------------------------------------

I will ask the support about this. To Christian: yes, I've always thought to transfer mtron files to EXS (EXSP in my case) but I didn't find a way. How did you do that? I mean, I could bounce every single 8 seconds note 35 times or bounce all the notes in a single file and then cut them with editor but it's a very long and boring procedure...

>it's a very long and boring procedure... Depends on how much 'automation' you are able to implement. I use Quickeys extensively for such tasks. The following took about one hour for *all* four MTron CDs (around 85 instruments and more than 3000 individual samples) with the computer doing most of it all alone. - Arrange: create an empty sequence on an MTron track with the pencil tool and drag it to 35bars length - Matrix: create a whole note on G2. - Select All and option drag this right and up to the next note. - repeat this 4 times to get 4-8-16-32 then add 3 more on top of that scale to get all 35 used notes. - Arrangement: Set Cycle By Object - drop the tempo from 120 to about 25 to get note lengths of 9sec15f - change the output object to mono repeat - bounce offline, enter *correct* name, copy name - select next MTron sound end repeat By now you have converted all MTron sounds to a single long file each. - create a mono audio track repeat - Import Audio File, (auto-selectable by down-arrow after first occurrence) - copy file name from name field - Strip Silence - Convert Regions to Individual Audiofiles (auto-create a new folder and auto-paste filename as foldername) - Backspace (to clear the new files from the track) end repeat By now you have converted the single long sound files into 35 keys each, and neatly placed them into properly named folders. - create a mono EXS track - Edit EXS repeat - New Instrument - Load Multiple Samples - Go into folder of first/next instrument (auto-selectable with apple-uparrow/downarrow/return after forst occurrence) - Add All, Return - Chromatic - Option click 'One Shot' - hit Shift Selected Zone Right 19 times - Close window and Save (auto-paste file name as Instrument name) - Backspace (to clear new zones from the instrument) end repeat By now you have created as many EXS Instruments as you have MTron sounds. - Select first EXS instrument - set up EXS controls the way you want (no velocity, max volume, cc4 (foot control) to volume) repeat - Save Settings To Instrument - Select Next EXS Instrument repeat end Done.
