I know I'd probably be doing better to split them, but I'm thinking I should be able to get better performance in this configuration - I've run 48+ tracks off one drive before - and I'd rather keep it like this if possible. > All discs freshly defragmented and checked by Dr Norton. > > Can anybody give me some ideas to try to improve this? > > Many thanks > > mdv > > > Have you checked the settings in the Atto Powercontrol s/w? (Atto folder on system HD) I helped put a large D24 mix system together a couple of days go, and with the Atto's there's alot of settings for the drive transfer rate and stuff like syncronus and asnycronus data transfer from the Atto and the Cheetah's. Select the drive icon and then the (settings or options) button will become highlighted. I think we got the best performance with the transfer settings down to about the 10mb/s settings,I find this helps things and FWB seems to like it too. If this has no effect then try asyncronus mode. What Atto card are you using marius? Is it the single or dual channel express? It's probably the dual, so sharring the drives between the two SCSI busses will help here to. Do you think you could try this and get back with any results? Best wishes, Alan.
