Once you select which mode you want your LC to be (LC or MC), it stays that way (even if you turn it off) untill you decide to change it. I can't see what's so bad about that, before this agreement between Emagic & Mackie your only option would have been to own a LC for Logic as well as a MC for everything else......but now with the firmware upgrade it's basically a case of 'one size fits all'. Now an Emagic branded LC and a Mackie branded MC are essentially the same thing.....(which some of us suspected from the get go anyhow....;-) I'm personally delighted that my LC is now capable of also being a MC.........how could you not!? Logic could send a code so the LC turns to a LC and when quitting Logic it could revert it to Mackie mode without the user having to think about it. Sorry just a dream !
