Subject: [GEN] - FAQ update?
Message #151209
Hi, I had Notator and moved to Logic + Mac I bought the Len Sasso book but still am looking for more info about Logic 6 because I have lots of questions (and maybe perhaps even one real tiny genuine quantization bug) and wanted to read the latest from the Logic FAQ at http://logicfaq.omega-art.com/. But it says: [last updated: May 18, 2003]. Is there a more updated version planned at some point? Is there a list of known bugs and issues anywhere that I can read through (and save bandwidth)? many ta! Lu

Yes, the FAQ update is long overdue -- sorry about that. The point is that it's become a kind of one-man project, and I simply haven't had the time to do anything about it lately (a.o. new job -- lots of fun, but consuming approx. all my time & energy). As a consequence I also haven't really paid much attention to the LUG lately, which means I surely have missed items that should be included in the FAQ. I do have quite a few saved posts which wait to be included, but I'm afraid lots of FAQ-material is missing nonetheless. As always I'm open to suggestions as to what should be included or not -- every time the admins label a post as FAQ, I save it for when the FAQ-update-day comes, but even then I have the feeling many faqs are still missing... -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra h @ k n o w a r e . n l Omega Art: http://www.omega-art.com/

Subject: [LAM]MOTU & Panther audio dead
Message #151317
This is a reply to #151263.
I have a G4 Dual Gig running 10.3.1 with a 2408 MKII and PCI 424 combo. The problem is, that after some minutes of work suddenly audio is dead. The Logic meters still show activity, but no audio comes out of the output and none into the input. Refreshing the card in the PCI Console doesn't help, but after the refresh the PCI 424 isn't even recognized. Sometime, the bug is even more weird and the clock is gone, which results in a Logic sample frequency error - then the 44.1 and 48 k and the bus LED on the 2408 blink. The only help is to restart the Mac. I've tried a lot to get rid of the problem but nothing helped yet. A few users on the unicornation.com list seem to have the same problem, but no fix in sight yet. This is not really related to Logic since it also happens with other audio apps, but I really have no idea how to solve this, so if anyone knows the problem and a fix, I would appreciate your help. A new installation of the system is not the solution that I'm looking for. Thanks in advance Ray ------- Raymund Beyer http://www.brainstorm-music.com
