This is great advice, thanks. Since you are also running "Repair
Disk" you
obviously would need to start up from the installer CD, but if you only need
to repair permissions, is it necessary to start up from the installer CD?
Disk Utility lets you repair permissions on the disk you are booted from, so
there is no strict *need* to boot up from the CD, but I'm wondering if
perhaps you find you get better results that way?
