Have you tried reinstalling Win95 over your current version? It won't change any settings, or copy over newer drivers, just reinstall any corrupted files. It'll take about 15 minutes. Win98 has a better feature which checks all system files and drivers. If an older one has been copied over a newer one it gives the option to revert to the newer file or if a system file has become corrupted, reinstalling that file. This will take about 5 minutes. I think W2000 even does all this in the background.
