Subject: [LAM] EXS24?
Message #149290
HI, I recently purchased Logic Platinum 6.3 and I was wondering what is up with the exs24 mkII..I read that it is built into Logic, but I also read it is optional. So...whats up?

So...whats up? Hi, When you first install Logic, EXS24 runs as an evaluation for 30 days. After that, you need to purchase it. But it is definitely integrated closely with Logic. Rob Yale

You're exactly correct. You need to purchase EXS24 in order to use it. You will get a code to enter into your XS-Key that will enable its usage. Same goes for various other goodies, like Space Designer (fantastic reverb and more) and other soft synths like EVD6, EVOC20, ES2 etc....... f-erenc szabo, smarty pants Z+E+R+O+B+E+A+T "NOW POWERED BY THE MIRACLE OF THE TRANSISTOR!"

So...whats up? All Logic synths (EXS, B3, EVP, etc) are built into the Logic program code. In order to actually use them you have to buy a licence, which will result in you being sent an unlock-code for the XSkey, which unlocks the specific piece of code (instrument or plug-in) that you've paid for. Note that the ES E/P/M are actually _free_ synths which don't require an XSkey code. All to-be-paid-for plug-ins can be found in the XSkey window (apple menu), where you can also start the 4-week demo period for each of them. -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra h @ k n o w a r e . n l Omega Art: http://www.omega-art.com/
