I will report back any thing i found after more test. i will like to make sure i do not have any problems, Perhaps i spoke to soon. Last night i had a crash, not running Logic but Itunes to play a test example CD i got at the AES convention. I use the PCI-324 to 1296 for all audio outs on all applications. The move to Panther is on hold until i found out if the PCI-324 works ok on that OSX upgrade. If not i will upgrade to the PCI-424. For the price I like the AD/DA converters on the MOTU 1296 so i will try to keep using it until i can afford to upgrade to better (A lot more money) converters. As i mentioned in my previous post I have every thing working solid on OSX 10.2.6 / PCI-324. I think something is not mixing well with the PCI-324-Any driver and OSX after Vers. 10.2.8 Best regards, Rafael

Rafael, Thank for the response. The common element among Logic/PCI324 users who are experiencing the kernel panics seems to be the use of external sync. Since you are using internal sync, you may be averting some trouble in this manner. Yes, iTunes also exhibits consistent kernel panics and crashes with the PCI-324 driver under external sync on my system. Apparently you have the problem with iTunes in internal sync as well. But iTunes has never gotten along well with the PCI-324 on my system, even in OS 9. 3 > > >I am using internal sync. >I will report back any thing i found after more test. i will like to >make sure i do not have any problems, Perhaps i spoke to soon. >Last night i had a crash, not running Logic but Itunes to play a test >example CD i got at the AES convention. However: Today I didn't have a single one. Here's what I did since yesterday: 1. Removed all the MOTU stuff like suggested by MOTU 2. Removed everything that smelled like Norton => restart 3. Installed 10.2.8 from the standalone installer again (which I thought it wouldn't even do, but it did) => restart 4. Installed the MOTU driver again (1.03) 5. Computer froze while the installer was trying to restart it (I was climbing the walls, hitting the desk, and thought: thank god: new computer next week...) 6. Had 1 freeze in QuickTime (6.4 and my personal impression is, that this has got something to do with the whole issue...) 7. Trashed Logic preferences (I think this made things good! 8. worked all day today with a song that maxed out the machine to the fullest (menus take about 10 seconds to open and that kind of thing) without crashes. Now, the way I see it is: I don't know anymore... was it the trashing of prefs the reinstalling, good karma, I don't know. But, knock on wood, it was good today. Cheers Hans

Fast, rock solid, and gorgeous to look at and work with. If you have the $, get out of PCI-324 and Jaguar, you won't regret it. James

I had KPs w/ internal sync in every prior OS version too. Plus, in 10.2.8 I had another bizarrre thing I mentioned in another post: mysterious sporadic buzzes printed in the files. Anyway, more or less on the basis of Ryan's success, I ordered my PCI- 424; I'll have to get down to my Mac Store and get my Panther pretty soon. One final note: Four days ago, when I ordered the 424, I separately emailed upgrades@.... I said I had already ordered the 424, then asked point blank if MOTU had an official word on whether the 424 clears up the KP known issue with G4s. Hey, guess what? No response. -Rick
