Yeah. Now that's a Machine. At an old job, I used a 9600/350 with 768MB of ram. It was a pleasure to work with. Anyway, I have an 8500/120 (your little sister) with a 233Mhz 604e upgrade, 208MB or Ram and 1MB of Cache. I now want to get a G3/??? upgrade card and maybe bump the Ram up to 512MB. How did you come to the conclusion that Sonnet was the way to go? How much backside cache does is come with and how many Mhz is the cache running at. BTW, do you know what happens to level 2 cache on the motherboard? I had upgraded my cache from 256K to 1MB...But, if I get the G3/??? upgrade with 1MB of Backside cache, what happen to the level 2 cache? Does it get ignored...what is the deal with that? Next year I will probably get a G4. With 512MB of ram, 18gig internal SCSI, Zip, DvD Ram, ATI Rage 16MB, SCSI card and later maybe get my paws on a Firewire drive. Anybody, interested in what the results of Firewire drives will do for Audio. Is there any reason why people are not using Firewire drives yet?
