Hi Guys,
Just thought I'd paste in a link that someone sent to the UAD users,
which shows this months UAD webzine. The result for us Logic/UAD users is
that it (for the first time!) that OS X support DOES mean AU support in the
initial release! The article states that it will be previewed at AES and
shows a screen shot of the UAD plugs running under OS X. It goes on to state
that they have it (UAD3.3) working there and an annoucement will be made
shortly about a public beta - I think these public beta's are a great idea.
It worked out really well for Powercore OS X and for FXpansion wrapper. The
developers get to know about bugs way quicker, the customer knows that, if
they can't afford to risk buggy software, leave it until it's not beta!
Shame Emagic don't call their public beta's that instead of things like
6.0, 6.01,6.1 you know what I mean? Sorry, couldn't stop myself!
Anyway for those interested, UAD have also announced a new plug - the
Fairchild 670.
Read about all these things at:
http://www.uaudio.com/webzine/october/text/content1.html#Anchor-Coming-23240
I know that many Luggers have moaned that, like myself, UAD is the only
thing keeping them from full OS X migration so, maybe, this time next month,
month after, well wave bye bye to nine!
Gareth
