Subject: [LAM] LAP upgrade from 4 to 6 using original MTP with Stealth.
Message #147350
Hi I've come across an impass when trying to get LAP 6 to work. When I double click the LAP 6 icon I get a message saying that I should enter my XS code into LAP 5. I have done this successfully and LAP 5 is authorized and works. However every time I try to open vers 6 I get the same request to authorize vers 5. What am I missing? I'm also trying to use the original MTP as my midi interface in OSX but every time I double click the MTP Driver 2.0 the G4 dual I'm using starts to boot classic. I've looked at www.MOTU.com but cannot find an update to the MTP 2.0 driver. Anybody successfully using LAP 5 or 6 with the original MTP? Thanks for any suggestions. Jim

Subject: [LAM] OSX installation problem

Hi Guys, A dual G5 finally arrived yesterday but now I have a stuped provlem with installing drivers and Logic. It appears the tech guy at the reseller installed a password when installing OSX for me. And they forgot to give me that information. Now it's weekend and if I can't figure this out pretty soon I will have to put the G5 aside for two weeks and start a project on another machine instead. So, please tell me there's a way to change my OSX installer password? Sorry about this stuped question but I left Mac on OS 8.1 to and now I'm tumbling into OSX on a deadline. I think if you put in the installer CD there is an option somewhere (go look deep) to reset the password. That should do the trick and get you working! BTW, I just finished a 14 song 24 track CD completely in OSX and haven't had any problem. Good luck Hans

You should be able to put in the "PowerMac G5" DVD (or CD if you got the combo drive), reboot with the "C" key down to force the machine to boot off that disc, and when it boots up there's an option (don't recall where at the moment) to change the password.

Subject: [LAM] OSX Audiophile USB incompatibility?
Message #147442
This is a reply to #147357.
Hi, Finally the dual G5 arrived here and we started by trying to install the OSX drivers for a Audiophile USB. The Mac froze. Extensive trouble shooting but no fix found. Andy ideas? The plan is to get a bigger fire wire interface later on. The Audiophile was a kind of "interim strategy". Best wishes Per Boysen __________________________________ www.boysen.se www.looproom.com
