There will be an OS9 version. I've not heard these exact words, but I'm willing to bet my britches that Emagic is COMMITTED to supporting OS9 for the entire life cycle of Logic 6. In other words, even if every single update isn't matched point for point, OS9 will still keep up, so there will still be an OS9 6.3x, and any future version numbers as well (whichever those may be). > > I agree. This is the second time that LAMP/9 has been passed over while > LAMP/X moves forward. First of all, its not been passed over. Maybe they're uploading it slower. Maybe the OS9 version will be 6.32. I don't know. But Space Designer requires 6.3, Space Designer is coming out for OS9 (at least, it doesn't require OSX, according to their site), so you KNOW some version of 6.3 is coming out. Moreover, lets not beat around the bush. The new G5s and PowerBooks don't support OS9. Apple doesn't "officially" support OS9. And while Emagic is committed to supporting OS9 through Logic 6, that doesn't mean its exciting stuff. Emagic is keenly aware that many studios still run on OS9. Think about it--NO other current sequencer sells an OS9 version. DP, Cubase, Nuendo, Pro Tools...all OS X only. ONLY Emagic employees are forced to spend time coding for a moribund OS. There's an irony that a subsidiary of Apple is the only sequencer manufacturer going against Apple's preference and still supporting the "dead and buried" (by Steve Jobs at a previous WWDC conference) OS 9. And its even more ironic that Emagic is rewarded by its some of its faithful for this by suspicion and disappointment every time the "living" OS gets an update before the "maintenance" OS.
