That is to say "it's not doing what I tell it to do."
I set the volume automation on a track, draw in a curve. I'll make it a
long straight line, ramping volume from say, 56 to 112 (num scale, not
db). I'll play back and watch the volume ramp slowly up to...102, and
then stop. I do the same with a fadeout, watch it ramp slowly down
to...6, depsite the fact that the point says "0".
It does this if I bounce or freeze, too. It doesn't matter if it's RT or
offline, it seems to just ignore the tails of my curves. Slow ramp, fast
ramp...doesn't seem to make a difference.
I haven't determined if it does this for non-volume parameters yet -
volume is the easiest to hear when it screws up.
This is very annoying. If I can't smoothly fade out a track, then having
mix-automation is pretty useless.
Any ideas? Some sort of sync setting I need? Buffers? Am I just
screwed?

I've noticed this too. This quirk seems to affect the fade to the last
automation node only. The only method that i found to cure this is to put
another automation node at the same value after the last valid point.
