Hi folks.. first post
I've googled for this with no luck - is it possible to import my sound
module's patch names for all 7 banks in Logic 6.1? The docs mention
SoundDiver, but this is OS9 only... This stuff is easy in Cubase :-( am
I missing something? I've managed to get the system to change banks on
the module, but it'd be nice to import all my settings and have
everything communicate!
Thanks
Gavin

With Multi Instruments, you can import bank names in the Multi
Instrument editor (menu "Paste All Names") which you have copied
to the
clipboard before (one name per line, max. 128 lines).

Copied from where? You don't mean you've to type them in individually?
hundreds and hundreds of them? I haven't had to do that in Cubase since
I first used it years ago!
Help!
Gavin - and thanks for replying.

And how do you get those patch names onto the clipboard? Use
SoundDiver, right? And if you do not have SD... what then? I suppose we
are in for a lot of typing.
Some sort of SD-level gear management would be primo in Logic. With the
innovation that eMagic has put into other areas of Logic, I'm still
amazed to this day that gear management is still not there. Even just a
"Download Patch Names From MIDI Device" button in the Multi
Instrument
editor would be a great step forward.

Hmmm.... Subject says Patch Names in OSX so I assume the original
poster has no problem doing this in OS9.
So, you can import your multi from your OS9 autoload (or song) to OSX
right?
Am i wrong?

OK, but Cubase must get the names from somewhere as well.
There is no MIDI standard for transferring patch names. It can't be
Logic's job to know how to get patch names from thousands of different
MIDI devices. This is more a job for SoundDiver.
