Hi Chris,
I hope I am understanding your question correctly . . . .but here goes
1. if you move the mouse to the lower left corner of a track it turns
into a pointing finger, you can then resize that specific track to the
desired height. You can see the numeric value of your adjustments in
the upper left corner of the Arrange page.
2. shift+click= resets all track heights to a value of 0 (I guess
control + click does the same thing)
3. command +click + mouse up or down= resizes all tracks of that type
(audio, midi) simultaneously
to use key commands:
1. control+ up or down arrow=resizes all track heights of all types
2. control+option+up or down arrow= resizes selected track up and down
3. control+option+ left arrow= resets only the selected track to the
global default (0)
4. control+option+right arrow=resets all tracks to the global default
(0)
If you are asking if you can change the global default zoom to
something other than 0, you need to resize your tracks to the desired
height and then save it as zoom 1 (control+z). The reset still goes to
0, but that is relative to the zoom setting which you currently using.
That make sense? I'm sure if I did not explain it well enough, someone
will be along with another method.
Have you tried Auto track Zoom yet? It's a great feature. It's under
the view options directly above the track list.
best,
Jon

Jon,
Thanks for the tip. I figured it all out!! This list is great.
That being said, if I could ask another...
Is there a 'quick punch' feature? i.e. a way of punching in and out,
without having to select the 'punch-in' button in the transport. The
problem I'm having right now, is that when I'm playing, and i hit
'record' to punch in, all the audio stops for a moment...Is there a way
to avoid that?
Thanks again,
Chris on the list (former DP power user...8)

there's a "punch on the fly" option which needs a good ticking!
it's in one of the
menus up top, can't remember which one meantime, probably "audio".
you'll find it i'm sure.
