Subject: [LUG] [LAW] Using two soundcards
Message #145422
Is it possible to use my Tascam pci 822 soundcard for input, and my computer's built in sound-card for monitoring? If so, how would I set this up in my computers hardware device window. Logic platinum, on windows base computer Thanks!

Hi Joe, I tried two soundcards for a whil on a PC. What happens is that you get (or have to create, if they do not appear automatically) more audio objects in the audio environment. For example there can be two "Audio Track 2", one of each soundcard. You have to put some time into configuring your audio environment set-up the way you want to use the system. Just make sure to set the right Output for each fader, etc. Best wishes Per Boysen __________________________________ www.boysen.se www.looproom.com > -----Original Message----- > From: Joe Ayler [mailto:logicaudioman@...] > > Is it possible to use my Tascam pci 822 soundcard for input, > and my computer's built in sound-card for monitoring? > > If so, how would I set this up in my computers hardware > device window. I was the happiest owner of a dual soundcard system ( They were an AW8 and Aark 20/20 ...) until the day I had to open my songs on an one card system . It´s a painful experience , because you already have an audio configuration on the remaining one , and you can´t just move one channel for the missing one to an empty channel in the other. you have to copy it and the paste will be in the same channel number it had on the missing card... a mess... and you can´t use both for phase coherent channels ( live drums or a dense mic recording )... other than that it´s great good luck

Heya, I have a friend who wants to get into recording and since I know logic, I'm helping him with that. Has anyone here tried out the ozone yet? How is the latency? What kind of performance do you get? Thanks Sam
