Subject: Digital noise?
Message #9221
Eric, Paul, Brad... >I can't answer your question with regard to the ds2416, but >I had digital noise and dropout probs with 4.04 and reverted >back to 4.0 (probs cleared). You might want to open 4.0 >which should still be in your emagic folder and see if your >problem goes away. >> How stable is your setup? >> >> Do you ever hear digital noise or get dropouts in your audio? Am I to understand that in the middle of a recording you're getting digital noise inserted into the audio track?? I remember seeing this ages ago in the early days of PC audio when a chunk of RAM memory would be dropped in the audio stream, all of a sudden a burst of white noise . Does this happen on many systems? Question to those of you experiencing digital noise... Is your audio drive UDMA IDE? Is this present in all versions 4.xx and above? howard (who is questioning the wisdom of an upgrade)
