Subject: [LUG] [LAW] Click sounds
Message #140192
I get "click" noise whenever I record in Logic. Even when I turn the volume all the way down on the source, I still get random clicking noise on my tracks. I am using LA Platinum with an Echo Layla running on a 1.7 Ghz PC.

Hi skasax007, I have heard that problem, and I found it to be related to a few things. First, the latency of the audio card.I can run small buffers on my MOTU 2408mkiii when doing overdubs and it is fine.Your results may vary with your particular card. Second, the process buffer size of Logic Audio.I use "Large"and don't ear problems anymore.See under the audio drivers panel. Third, the throughput to your record drive.depending on your motherboard and how it runs the I/O to the hard disk, your disk may be too fragmented/slow to playback AND record at the same time.Check the CPU system meters under audio/System performance, and see if they "hop" at all when you heasr the clicks.Maybe defragment the drive, and try again. I Hope these pointers help.
