I have now found the thread regarding numbers appearing in the key commands
window -
However no one from emagic or anyone else has to my knowledge supplied an
answer as to what they refer to or how to work out which key is which...
Come on guys - don¹t keep us in suspense - how do we work it out?

It's insanely easy, and insanely tedious at the same time.
-Make a copy of Logic's prefs so you can easily restore it later.
-Click Learn sep. Key
- Hack away
-There's a scheme to it
-You find it
-You tell us
-We owe you a beer
-Do we have a deal ?

I have a word-doc with all keycodes for my MacAlly ikey keyboard.
The codes might apply (and probably do) to other similar keyboards as
well -- i.e. the full-fledged-with-keypad kind of Mac keyboard. I
could post it to the file section if anyone's interested... (please
send me a direct mail if you want me to -- I'll be gone for the
weekend and might miss a follow-up post in the mass of mail I'l
probably find Monday)

I think you'll find that this doesn't correspond to the numbers in
Logic...that page simply shows you ASCII values. What it doesn't
tell you, for example, is what number you get for number pad keys,
functions keys etc.
Also, in Logic if I press the key 'a' I get nothing, 's' it tells
me I have the number 1. F1 is F1 or 122 I think etc...

Nope, doesn't work. The point is, it's not the ASCII character that gets
assigned, it's the actual key instead, so as to be able to distinguish
between the ten key pad and the upper row of numbers for instance, or the
two instances of + and - keys.

Here they are. Switch to fixed font for proper display.
Y'all owe me.

I don't believe they have numbers - at least you can't assign them
using the Learn Separate Key function.

I think you'll notice that if you have learn separate key pressed -
that the Functions keys are like so: F1 == F1 (but is probably 122
seeing as if you have a look at the popup list it sits between 121
and 123).
But the easily way to find out what a number is:
1) Find a command that you haven't assigned
2) Press Learn Separate Key
3) Press keys at will, noting their number
4) Disable the key again...
