I have ongoing problems with clicks and pops with the Grand, in Logic 5.3
&
5.5 using top of the line computers, disks & interfaces - the problem is
clearly in the Grand program itself. I use it with two systems - Pro Tools
HD on a dual 1G PowerMac with 1.5 G RAM and two 15,000 rpm ultra SCSI
drives, and also on a 1G PowerBook with 1G Ram and 7,200 rpm firewire
drives. No combination of disk drive or computer system has made any
difference. By adjusting paramters within the Grand I have gotten it to
barely passable, but I happen to like using the sustain pedal and the Grand
does not agree with that! I have been unable to get a response from
Steinberg about when they will fix this problem, but as it is now, the Grand
is not operating on a professional level.
If anyone has a different experience, please advise.

It works better in Cubase SX tho there are still clicks and crackles there
too.

If you search the archives I think there will be many posts of Logic
users having problems with the "so called" Grand. To get it to
work
at all I had to assign 500 meg to Logic which is a bad idea. It was
extremely flaky. Steinberg have no support as such. Evemn if you
could get them, can you imagine how they would answer "I have a
problem wityh the Grand in Logic" Yes! "solution: use it with
Cubase"
I sold my The Grand to a Nuendo user who is very happy. I got the
Wizoo EXS version and it works fine, though I now prefer the
Splendid Grand. Which is splendid.
Just my 2p worth
