hi everyone...!
ok here the problem, and what im using
emac -osx 10.2.5; 764mb of memory
motu 828
logic platinum 5.5
Ok. i cant seem to get audio to be recognized by logic.. ive gone thru the
audio mixer, changed the cha stuff around, gone thru the audio driver
section. selected core audio... (i did notice that if i ran version 5.0 in
mac os 9 that i also had the option for asio)
the best i could do was... i set the the audio in on the mixer to input 3-4
(thats what i have set up on my 828) and logic recognized it... althou i
could hear it. so i thought i might as well try and record the audio, see
what happens..went back to the main screen and transort bar. hit record ...
now at this point i COULD HEAR the met. clicking... i let it record a few
bars... pressed stop, and there was NO audio recorded...
AHHHHH
so does this seem like a prob with the driver working with the 828 and os x
?
ive reinstalled all the drivers... no luck.. and really the 828 is just
sending audio... and yes i also went thru apples controll and made sure that
the com. had the right audio settings (audio out -motu 828 - audio
in-motu-828)
and i contacted emagic.... went thru all the steps with them.. still no
luck!
help!!!!! im gonna break down and by digital performer!!!!
aHAHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
thanks everyone!!!

I myself have a TiBook and the MOTU 896. I have some weird problems with
digital artifacts in my recorded audio when trying to use my Western Digital
firewire drive as the destination for the recorded audio. So my quick
question for you is if you are trying to record to your Emac's internal
drive or to a firewire drive which is one the same chain as your 828. I
have some suspicions about the MOTU firewire drivers and OS X.
My 896 works fine recording to the laptop internal drive but doesn't like
having that Western Digital drive chained off the firewire pass through for
the record destination.
FWIW,
Sam

This may or may not help, but a buddy of mine who is running a TiBook
with much the same as you for everything else just spent a sleepless
night on deadline after installing 10.2.5. Nothing worked, so he went
back to 10.2.1 and even then he had issues, but at least the LAP5.5
worked again, enough to do his session.
Sorry this is hearsay, but I just heard about it yesterday, so when I
saw your system I thought I'd pass it along.
