Subject: [GEN]help with reclock
Message #138030
Hello group : I recorded a few songs without click , but now I want to add somme programming ( can´´t resist ... ) and I need to have the proper tempo changes to add loops and stuff . I tried to play a click with one of the tunes , but I have to adjust each hit ( no laughs please ) to make it happens . At bar 25 I realized it will be better to ask here before . Here go the questions : Does reclock works properly if the click track is properly adjusted ? Is there a way that somebody discovered to use the drum tracks to generate midi and then use that as click track ( deleting the unuseful notes , of course )... maybe aplying filters to the kick and snare just to make them clear to the audio to midi converter... Anyone tried reclock seriously ?... and get results... regards and thanks

You do need to use the click track though, and not try to tap in the tempo live. Creating a clicktrack is also quite easy -- just hit a key every quarter, and then adjust some off-beat notes, reclock, basta. I don't know how well audio-to-midi would work for clicktracks -- you'll just have to give that a try (that's the best way to learn things, isn't it, by just experimenting :). -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra <h@...> Omega Art: http://www.omega-art.com/

I've used the reclock function many, many times, and it works absolutely great. All you need do is take the time to create your guide track properly - I do it by playing a note on the keyboard along with the track (usually a percussive sound will work the best) and then fine-tuning those clicks so they line up perfectly with the track. Then select your guide sequence, go to reclock, and tick off the first two buttons in the diealogue (can't remember their names off the top of my head). It works perfectly. I have tried the audio-to-midi route, and discovered that it takes far more time with results that were inferior. Hope this helps, Cheers, Damir Price

Hello Hendrik: thanks for your support.... Playing clicks by hand is a mess to me because I have to correct a lot of them by hand later , so I tried the audio to score thing and then erased the unuseful noted . It worked perfectly . I needed a very precise clic because I had a lot of programming pre-done that I wanted to use . thanks again and regards
