From: Paul Abrahams <xcelmusic@...> Subject: RE: [GEN] Using Logic Processors & Others - OPINIONS WANTED Dear Paul, You might be suffering from the I "opening the box and mine doesn't sound as great as yours" syndrome. I am a 25 year veteran of great NY, LA London, and Paris Studios( New Zealand too) and I think Logic is one of the best things to come along since the wheel. I recently finished a four hour documentary on the history of Russia for the History Channel. I used only Logic. No giga sampler, no waves, no tc plugins. And I can tell you it sounds amazing. You need to spend a little time to make Logic your own. For the first 6 months I had it I was very frustrated. Now after 2 years, I realize how amazing it is. 180 films cues were written and recorded in 6 weeks. If you want a great bass sound, make one. Sample your bass into the EXS(it's unbelievably simple, especially if you have worked with AKAI's). And in ten minutes you have your bass in Logic. Instead of library's I had string players come over and record some things I needed into the EXS and now I have a great sounding string Library. Plugins, like the platinum reverb have there own sound. As does lexicon, as does TC. I encourage you to really get to know Logic before making judgments. I personally dislike and have always disliked the sound of the Yamaha's DX 7. It is a "crappy" sounding synth? To me yes. To millions of other users it is amazing. Gary Pozner
