It doesn't matter which system you use as long as you KNOW which system you're using. I used to have to teach MIDI/Cubase sequencing in a college with 40 Korg X5/X5Ds, which use the 1 to 128 convention for the GM bank and the 0 to 127 convention for the A (RAM) bank - in the same machine! Likewise, the bank change message for the A bank is bank 0, but the G bank is bank 7169 and the drum kits are bank 7937! These Korg guys must smoke some serious stuff!
