Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to adjust the gain of an audio
sample? I want to use a certain hi-hat sample with an
8th note application throughout the measure. I have
copied the same sample to all the 8th note positions
inside the measure and now would like to drop the gain
of the sample on the back side of the beat and leave
the original gain on the downbeat where it is. Any
suggestions?
Thanks
Gary

One way would be to copy the beats you want soft to a second track and
lower the volume there. Also, why not use EXS? make a sample instrument
with the hi hat sample and use midi velocity to change the volume..

I tried using the event list to copy samples and adjust volumes, but
it seems that the midi adjustments change the actual presentation of
the wave itself to the ear, as though it alters the sample. But if I
have to, I guess I could change the gain of the original and use it
in another track. I also have Acid Pro and it has a gain adjustment
for each instance of the sample. The adjustment only alters the
volume and not the overall sound.
