I understand LOGIC WINDOWS 5 will run on Win98SE or WinXP. Can
anyone tell me how stable it is under either platform? crashes?
How buggy is 5.5.1? 4.8.1 is pretty stable for me right now
Anyone have an audiowerk2 card running well with LOGIC 5? I am
consider one of those Delta cards - anyone running one of those
successfully under 5.5.1?

I was very happy with the upgrade from 4.8.1 to 5.x (I would be happier
with an upgrade now to 6.x...I'd pay money for that!). Very stable XP,
P4 2.26, 1024 mb ram, RME Multiface, etc. I can remember one crash, I
think plugin-related, and I run a sinfully large amount of tracks, VST
effects, VST plugins.

Thanks for the reply - that encourages me! I am seriously looking at
Logic 5, as I tried Cubase SX and have had no end of trouble with it.

Both fine for me. The odd crash under XP - though normally only
because I've done something stupid (like trying to play 700 tracks
simultaneously).

5.5.0 seems OK. Haven't tried 5.5.1 yet (finishing the current project
first). Definitely worth going to 5, in my opinion - though that will
depend on if (or how long) you plan on staying with Logic.

My Audiowerk8 (same drivers as the Audiowerk2, I think) is fine with
5.5.0 - and has been with previous versions too (except when used with
VIA chipsets).

AW8 is fine here too on this machine (Intel Pentium 4 Northwood
1800@2158 256Kb, ASUS P4T-E i850, 512 Mb RAMBUS/RIMM PC800, CLOCK
480MHz). I'm running 5.5.1 now and it's very smooth. Feels just the same
as 5.5 to me.
Best wishes

Not buggy at all, very stable here.
