Hi,
after using Logic 6.0 for a few hours, I did find a bug and a strange
behavior of the project manager:
- Fat bug: Logic does not load any plug in settings. When loading one, I get
the name above the plug in (e.g. "wooden verb"), but the settings
do not
change at all.
- Strange behavior of project manager: After scanning, most of my EXS
instruments' file references seem to be unconsolidated in the project
manager's browser window (there is a red arrow next to the aiff/wav files).
This is a bit odd, because EXS loads the respective instruments/samples
without any problems (there is no dialoge like "can't find
samples"). I can
reonsolidate the respective references manually or with the automaticc
search function, but this takes ages for a large sample collection.
Anybody experiencing similar problems?
Best,
TQ
P.S.: Except the strange behavior mentioned above, project manager is a
heaven sent. If you have a lot of instrument files and projects on your HD,
this will save you hours of searching and organizing. I think Emagic used a
bit of their Sound Diver experience for this part (?).

I haven't looked into this yet. Are you using OSX? Someone posted a report
about somthing like this last week and Michael Haydn responded with a
fix/workaround. It's something to do with OSX file permisioning.

This happened to me too - however I had moved all my EXS instruments and
Samples from my Logic 5 folder to the OSX version of Logic 6. For the OS9
version, I've created an alias to them.
In my case, I figured that this was why they were unresolved - the
instrument probably saves a path to the files.
If you read the LAMP6 adendum - it does say that Logic has always searched
all drives for samples that aren't where they are supposed to be. This is
probably why the EXS instruments still work. I would let the Project Manager
resolve all the missing samples - you should only have to do this the once.
It took about an hour or more on my machine - but it does now appear to know
where they all are!!

After installing Logic 6 from the software cd vol. 6 a problem might occur
regarding the Mac OS X access permissions of the plug-in settings files.
As a result it is possible that the parameters of the plug-in setting are
not updated.
Immediate workaround:
Duplicate the plug-in settings folder and delete the original folder.
Solution:
1. The problem is fixed in the installer of software cd vol. 7 or higher.
or
2. Download: service.emagic.de/files_download/EmagicPluginSettings.dmg.gz

At least the Project Manager was developed by Jens Altfelder, one of
the SoundDiver module authors...

Not being able to write settings is likely related to permissions
issues. It is turning out that following major software installations
(programs or updates), you should "Repair Permissions" using the
Apple
Disk Utility program. For instance, iMovie3 has some annoying behaviors
until you repair. To do this, open the ADU program
(Applications/Utilities/), click on the First Aid tab, click once to
highlight the partition containing OSX, then click the Repair Disk
Permissions button. Have a cup of coffee...
