Any suggestions for best ways to monitor external Midi Synths within LAM 5.5 while using Digi 001?

plug the midi synth audio outs in to the digi 001 's audio ins. If you need more ins don't forget the optical in can be , with the correct converter, used as another 8 ins. Its a good idea not to use ins 1 and 2 as these should be kept clear for mikes If you are not using a lot of midi gear also keep ins 3 and 4 clear as these are usefull as alternate monitor sources. Then You need to make some channels in the audio enviroment that correspond to the inputs that you have selected (audio Inputs). Software monitoring needs to be on and buffer size needs to be set fairly small. I tend to also ofset the midi with a minus delay in the midi sync window but you must remember to revert this when recording midi to audo tracks. I think thats about it. Regards Rupert www.logict
