Subject: [GEN] duration midi messages
Message #134045
i am using logic 5.5 on mac os x, and using it to tranmit signals to a synth i built in max msp, the synth interprets a list of two numbers, pitch, and duration, is there a way to make logic transmit the length of the note being played rather than just signifying the end of the note when the velocity hits 0? any suggestions would be much appreciated thank you very much jared

The point is that MIDI is realtime -- i.e. you respond to what you receive _now_, and sending a message like "turn of this note in 2 seconds" runs counter to that idea. -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra <h@...> Omega Art: http://www.omega-art.com
