Subject: [LUG] [GEN] Audio Drive - Performance questions
Message #134030
I currently have about 10 songs I'm recording on the working drive. I have a 18GB 10,000 rpm SCSCI drive for my audio drive, and use a 40 GB IDE drives for backup. It only takes about 30 seconds to transfer a song betweeen drives. Wondering if having only the data of the song you're working on would make performance better? Does the drive read/write to the fastest part of the drive when its otherwise empty? Also would formatting the drive every so often be of any benefit? Thanks Scott
