The Setup Assistant works automatically if you have no previous preferences for Logic. To force it to work remove all Logic preferences from the Preferences folder then start up Logic 6. You should make sure first of all before doing this that you have used the Apple Audio/Midi Setup Utility and it might be a good idea to keep the Logic preference files on your desktop rather than deleting them - just in case!!

With ~, I mean your home directory.
