Well, upon reading this at first I had to laugh as well. But
wouldn't it be an extremly feasible and practical solution? I mean,
just set the fridge to 10 C, and be done with it. Why not? A fridge
makes less noise than some computer fans (I think -- long time since
I consciously listened to my fridge), and sure is a lot cheaper than
those ridiculous $1000 solutions...

I very very often have thought of doing this or of just sticking the
refrigeration unit from a normal fridge in some kind rack that could
hold a CPU. The only catch is that the plumbing and charging of a
refrigeration unit is beyond most of us, including me, I think.

You could get an IsoBox
Several companies make them - I have one I bought years ago from
CustomConsoles. Although I complained like hell at the time about the
shoddy workmanship and other problems, I'm far happier listening to
the 2 very quiet IsoBox fans rather than the WindTunnel G4 fans
changing gears and driving around at varying speeds.
Then again, a fridge might do it.....
