Hi Bobby I am not so sure if this is going to be much help, but, I have been experimenting with CUbase SX, coming from quite a few years working with logic, and, well, I could have written your post, swapping the words "Cubase" and "Logic". There are many differences in work methods between the two programmes, both are very complex, and what may appearto be a perfectly normal feature in one of them, is either completely lacking in the other, or has to be done in a completely different way. For example, I discovered not so long ago that there is no "Audio to MIDI" function built into Cubase. Well, that I found pretty unbelievable, but hey, just because one programme has a particular function doesn't mean that it is gospel that they all do! In the same way, there are doubtless functions in cubase which a logic user may not have missed, which a cubase user would hate to do without. >Why does a company (emagic) with the "most" key commands" make a >program that is so mouse intensive? Even with Using "Quick keys", >it seems impossible to press a button & execute a transform function or >up velocity + 5 or remove Controller 7 or call up different Transform >functions from the pull down in "ALL" Windows . . . . the list goes >on Again, there are ways to achieve these in Logic, but the fact is, they aren't the same. Think how long it may have taken you to get your present working knowledge of cubase - you won't be able to apply all that to Logic in the same way, but at least you know what you want, as opposed to the frame of mind of a begginer "logic, that's nice, now what can it do." May I suggest you start off by reading the FAQ written by some of us here, available at the following URL: http://logic-users.org there is a very good section on getting started. In particular, start to get used to screensets, and spend plenty of time getting used to logics' key commands. Remember, in Logic you can programme them yourself - so you may find that a lot of the quck key functions you are missing from cubase _are_ available in some from in logic. Also, a key feature in logics' architecture is that you can set it up the way _you_ want. Of course, you need to know what you want, and how to get it .... . . . . Am I missing a chapter in the manual? :-) >So Why do I want to change to logic in the first place, Stability & >the ESX 24 & PT front end ! you may also get to love the ES2, Evoc 20, EVP 88, spectral gate etc... HTH kind regards Mark Cahill
