gotten too much into Cubase SX, even though I bought the crossgrade. I think
it says a lot about Emagic (and the people there) that they are still doing
some work on LAW. Mind you, I won't hesitate in asking them to keep at it

Agreed, although it is encouraing to see that the latest Macs are
considerably cheaper. If I hadn't upgraded my PC last October, I would be
very tempted, but wouldn't want to work without all those plug ins...

One thing I would never consider doing is moving to a slower Computer (don't
want to start any argument about what is fast or slow, I just mean that I
wouldn't be interested in an older Mac, even though most of the people on
the list are probably using such machines with OS9.) I think it is only
sensible, if you are going to change, to make a clean sweep of it, that
means for me to wait as long as possible, and buy whatever the appropriate
model is at the time you _have_to change, so that means OSX, and hopefully a
nice G5/IBM 970 or whatever Apple come up with next. I really want them to
do well and come up with machines that will settle all the stupid PC/Mac
performance arguments.

absolutely right, that is definitely the way to go, in any case, LAWP 5.5 is
bloody marvellous, I (we) have never had it so good....

Nicely preached, ...BTW how is the thesis going?

Agreed -- I wouldn't do that either. I guess if had a PC (now
there's a funny thought :-), I would simply stick to 5.5 and wait a
bit. Nothing wrong with 5.5, and nothing wrong with not spending
money for some time :).

I don't care for the arguments, but a new line of G-whatevers would be nice.

Very well -- thanks for asking. Just working my *ss off currently...
Spending 16 hours or more each day behind the Mac... (it's a one-week
schoolholiday over here, so no work until Monday -- hence the 16 hour
days). Another month or 2, and it'll hopefully be over. Heck, by
then I've been going to school for some 36 years -- time to get it
over and done with, and get a life :-).
