Subject: [LAM] LAP 6.0 first impressions
Message #133919
Just got my copy of Logic Audio Platinum 6 today and am a bit disappointed. On MacOS X 10.2.2 it doesn't install at all. It says it needs MacOS X 10.2 or greater to work. Really ridiculous. On OS 9 it has some nice new features borrowed from ProTools, but that's ok. But it's not that much new stuff for the EUR 139,- it costs you. And the fact I still don't get a new manual is crazy, but that's been discussed here before. All in all, nice new things, but a little expensive for what you get. Remco BTW Anyone know how to install Logic on MacOS X 10.2.2? Imagine you buy a EUR 900,- software package and it won't even install...

I know that 10.2.3 introduced some important under-the-hood improments related to audio so why not just update your system? It's free... fwiw there have been some reports of problems with 10.2.4 and MOTU828s. I have had no problem with 10.2.4 and my MOTU896 however.

I don't know about 10.2.2 (this hasn't been current for many weeks now). 10.2.4 is actually the most current, but I definitely know that 10.2.3 works fine. f-erenc szabo, smarty pants Z+E+R+O+B+E+A+T "NOW POWERED BY THE MIRACLE OF THE TRANSISTOR!"

My 828 works fine in 10.2.4 That's interesting what you say about the 896 because I still can't get Logic to boot unless I go through the work around of switching sample rates in the motu console to get it to boot. I tried installing OS X on my SCSI drive and re-installed everything on that drive and still Logic won't boot half the time. Anyone else have any experiences with the 896, the MOTU OS X driver and Logic 5.5/6? Let me know. Evan
