from KVR-vst.com:
Audio Units is an alternative, OS X only, plugin format to VST and is the
only
plugin format supported by Emagic's Logic on OS X. The Crystal soft
synthesizer, previously only available for VST, is now available as one of
the
first plugins in this new format.
Crystal, one of the most popular software synthesizers due to its inspiring
sonic capabilities, along with the added bonus that it's free, may now be
used
by Logic 6 (version 6 of Logic is required), and other AU host users on OS
X.

Why would Logic 6 be required to run it? AFAIK there are no major
changes between 5.5 and 6.0's AU implementation, are there?

Here's the info I got from Glenn:
"With Logic 5 you can use the presets, but you
can't edit patches (the GUI controls won't work). EMagic will
be supplying a free 5.5.x update to fix this in the near future.
by Logic 6 (version 6 of Logic is required), and other AU host users on OS
X."

and sound comes out the other end and
disrupts the cosmos."
