Subject: [LUG] [GEN] 5.5 Is there a way to copy/paste automation data
Message #133899
Hi All, My setup consists of a Logic system and two Giga systems. On a recent project I decided some glitches in a Giga track required a different instrument. This was after I'd recorded audio into Logic and written automation for the track. Is there a way to copy the automation data and paste it into the new audio track? I looked in help, tried changing it to midi data and pasting that, but that didn't work either. It would be nice to not have to duplicate the effort of writing the automation data. You can copy/paste between the lists for different tracks. You'll need some automation on the target track to open the event list, though. Len www.Swiftkick.com

Yes.......what you do is this - go to your key commands menu, type in the "search" box "Automation Folder", you'll notice that there are no key commands assigned to this menu, you'll also notice another automation Event List that does not have any key command assigned to it. This is because the only way to access these menus is by assigning them key commands.(kind of a funky thing for Logic to have to make you do, but oh well) I used key commands like "Option, 1" and "Option, 2" for the other.(these commands are not used by any other Logic function) Once you've done this, you can access these windows from the arrange and do your pasting and copying as you like.........hope this helps.
