The other day I had just finished playing a MIDI file using Winamp when I
made the mistake of opening Logic without closing Winamp first. Logic gave
me an error message regarding not being able to find the Key and then
locked up my computer. I rebooted and ran the Find Key program, then ran
Logic. This time Windows 95 gave me an error message regarding an illegal
action and locked up. I tried a couple more times, but with the same error,
each time requiring me to reboot the machine. I tried to reinstall 3.6,
then 3.5 and 3.6. The error still occurred, so I completely removed Logic
from my computer, rebooted, and reinstalled 3.0 & 3.1 (which is the
earliest version I had). I ran 3.1 and it still locked up. I haven't
bothered to try to reinstall it the rest of the way, since it seems
unlikely that it will matter.
So, does anyone have any idea what might be conflicting with Logic now that
I have removed and reinstalled it?
I don't really want to have to completely wipe and reload the HD unless I
absolutely have to (I was also planning on waiting until I could get Win98
to put on my machine).
All suggestions welcome.
